Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before flashing.

You need an active ConnectedRoom account. The OS itself is free to download for subscribers — it is not a separate purchase. Your existing plan covers it.
Yes — ConnectedRoom OS is a full operating system, not an app. Flashing it replaces whatever is on the drive. We recommend using a dedicated Mini PC or a spare drive. Do not flash it onto your main computer.
Everything is managed from the ConnectedRoom app on your phone or tablet. You pair your device during the initial setup, and from that point your phone is the remote for everything — scoreboards, lights, audio, automations.
Yes. ConnectedRoom OS includes the full ConnectedRoom Hub, so all your existing lights, integrations, and automations work out of the box — and with lower latency than the cloud-based hub since everything runs locally.
Updates are delivered over-the-air automatically in the background. They never interrupt a running game — the OS is configured to update only during idle periods, not mid-session.
Yes. ConnectedRoom OS reads the display's native resolution automatically via EDID over HDMI, so it works with any TV, monitor, or projector without any configuration. You do not need to set a resolution manually.
The x86_64 image runs on most Intel/AMD-based Mini PCs. If your hardware boots from USB and has HDMI output, it will likely work, but we only officially support and test on the Mini PCs listed on the Setups page, and Raspberry Pi 4 and 5.

Ready for game day?
